Preparing Ice Sculptures for 2008 graduation

Culinary Arts students try their hands at ice carving. Large blocks of ice are being transformed into a crystal 2008 sculpture that will be on display the evening of graduation. Large and medium cuts are done with a chain saw, and the detail work is done with chisels. Pictured is the formation of the 2008 sculpture which will be placed in a freezer until graduation night.

There are sixteen graduating seniors the Culinary Arts program. These graduates will go on to work in the many various arms of the hospitality industry. Some of the typical employment areas are: Chefs, bakeries, restaurant employment, wait staff, cruise ships, hotels and hospitals. Some of the Culinary Arts seniors have been accepted to culinary colleges where they will continue their education.
