| For the first time in its history, students,
faculty and administration at Franklin County Tech School joined
in on the annual Franklin County Fair Parade. As the word spread throughout the school about parade
participation, the enthusiasm grew and work began in earnest.
On parade day, over 50 students and staff eagerly waited to
step out onto the parade route. Students held banners for every shop FCTS offers. Chef Ben Pike in his hot, classic Mustang convertible drove Superintendent Rick Lane and Principal Rick Martin in the parade. The ever energetic cheerleaders made their way along the parade route. The FCTS eagle mascot was simply dashing, and a shiny green tractor from the Landscaping program chugged along among FCTS students. The crowning glory was the maiden public performance of the FCTS Drum Line. Under the direction of Dave Maloney, these students, who have worked on their skills for many hours, wowed the crowds. Another notable in the parade was recently retired administrative assistant, Ruth Snow. Ruth was representing the Cancer Society "Relay for Life" parade entry. Additionally, our Culinary instructor, Matt West was in full costume on the Arena Civic Theatre float for the show "The King and I" which was about to open. Click on thumbnails to see larger photos |
