Habitat House Ceremony

As the school year comes to a close, students and teachers who have worked on the Habitat for Humanity house in Turners Falls got to meet the family who will become the owners of the home. For the FCTS seniors, it is the end of a wonderful learning opportunity. Carpentry senior, Alicia Wells said the true value of the learning experience is "You have to actually do it"

The Speek family of Turners Falls (pictured in the front) got to meet the students who have been working on the house that they will eventually own. Construction will continue throughout the summer, and once the new school year starts, FCTS will return. The expected date of completion is December 2008.

Also in attendance at the ceremony were some of the Habitat volunteers who also have been working on the house on weekends.
