Students
from the Cosmetology and Health Techology shops participated in the
Breast
Cancer Community Awareness Program at Baystate Medical Center. Along
with many other community organizations, the FCTS students helped to
make the
program a real success.
Health Technology students acted as guides, bringing visitors to various
locations as they toured the facility of Baystate Franklin Medical Center.
Centeral to the tours was the modern mammography department that Baystate
Franklin
Medical Center has at its site.
Cosmetology students gave the women attending the program a real treat
by providing hand massages, paraffin dip and polish along with hair and
face analysis. Feedback from Baystate was very positive.
The FCTS school community
is involved in additional activities for the October Breast Cancer
Awareness Month:
- On Friday, October 16, the staff
and students at FCTS held a "GO
PINK" day as a reminder of
the fight to prevent breast cancer.
- The Health Technology program is participating in the upcoming RAYS OF HOPE breast cancer walk.
