Dear Parent/Guardian,

Franklin County Technical School is committed to excellence in quality Technical Education.

Please come for a visit during our scheduled 8th grade visits, on February 7 and 10th, or our Open House on February 13th. During that time, you can tour our Technical Programs, and talk to some of our amazing Shop and Academic teachers, who set high standards to help your child achieve success.

The foundational philosophy of the Franklin County Technical School is that all students are capable of academic and technical skills. All students can grow intellectually, socially, ethically and physically. Students learn best in a safe, tolerant and disciplined environment. It is our task to nurture students into mature, young adults capable of life-long learning and curiosity. We achieve that by providing the professionally trained technical and academic teachers who are accomplished in reaching all students. We focus on support and individual instruction in those areas students will need for full, successful lives.

How is Franklin County Technical School a public school?

FCTS is a 4-year, public high school. There is no application fee or tuition paid by parents or guardians for their student to attend. The school is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). Upon graduation, students recieve a high school diploma and can receive a certificate of occupational proficiency within the career major they have completed.

Can I apply to FCTS after 9th grade?

Yes, FCTS does accept transfer students for grades 9, 10 and 11. The options for programs is limited. Once a student completes all of the appropriate paperwork, including an application, we can begin the admissions process. We must recieve your records from your sending school in order to process your request in a timely manner.

  • a completed and signed application form (downloadable from this page)

My child was home-schooled. What do I need to do to enroll?

If your child has been home-schooled, official verification of promotion by your Superintendent must also accompany your application.

Will I be "college ready" when I graduate from FCTS?

FCTS is proud that, during each of the past five years, over 45% of our graduating seniors went on to a two- or four-year college. Students with ambitious college goals and with proven academic abilities are encouraged to apply to our Eagle Scholar Program.
